Product DescriptionStainless 316LVM Steel Wire (ASTM F138 Chemistry Only) is 316L (VM is Vacuum Arc Remelted). The wire is spring tempered, drawn, straightened, cut and cleaned with a bright surface. The wire only meets chemistry of ASTM F138 due to the loss of tensile strength as a result of the straightening process yielding a 10% loss in strength. It is, however, to meet ASTM A313 for tensile strength. 316LVM is formulated similar to commercial quality stainless steel, has been but by melting or remelting in a vacuum, a process that separates the melt from oxygen, nitrogen and other ambient gases, which in a refined a cleaner, higher quality, more pure stainless steel . 316LVM stainless steel offers high corrosion resistance for many conditions, particularly when working with phosphoric acid and acetic acid. This wire is gun-barrel straight and clean with a bright surface. Many of the listed formats fit in diameters of our Hypodermic Tubing. Note: When ordering wire, always specify exact dimensions in decimals. A claim Gage sizes can lead to confusion, since different wire diameter probe may correspond to systems. Hypodermic tubing gage sizes are based on the Birmingham Gage, also known as Stub’s Iron Wire Gage.
